Types Of Businesses In Adams County

Adams County is made up of diverse businesses, but in particular, we have a strong tradition of manufacturing. Smith Brothers of Berne and Formula Boats are great examples of this long-lasting legacy.

We are also well-known in the leisure industry, including RVs, boats, cars, and more. No matter what industry you specialize in, the blue collar values found in Adams County will serve your company well.

The Porter Family has been building boats in Adams County Indiana since 1958. The Porter Family has operated manufacturing facilities in several other states but chose to consolidate operations in Adams County in 1988 because this is a great place for manufacturing high quality products in a manufacturing friendly environment. We enjoy great education from the three school districts, are supported with an excellent hospital locally and major hospitals regionally and the local support is first class.

For the past 5 years I've been on the Board of the Adams County Economic Development Corporation and am delighted to work with our executive director Colton Bickel and his assistant, Kim Tinsley, together they've made some great improvements for Adams County. Colton has been a great influence and a member of our MERIT Center board of directors, for the further advancement of Adams County's priorities of economic development.

He (Colton), in a very quiet way, will fill us in on things that we need to know about, that do affect the company. Colton is open to coming in and sitting down to talk and ask questions. Anytime the ACEDC gets involved, the outcome has been informative and helpful, well worth our time. We highly recommend the ACEDC and Colton who runs a great program.
