Solar Firm Announces Decatur Operations

DECATUR – The Adams County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC) and the City of Decatur, Indiana announced today that POWERHOME SOLAR, one of the fastest-growing American companies specializing in solar energy and energy efficiency services, is further expanding its presence in Indiana by opening an installation office in Decatur, Indiana that will provide homeowners and businesses in northeast Indiana with a supplement to grid energy.

“This is an exciting day for the City of Decatur and Adams County. We celebrate this great new asset to our community,” said ACEDC Executive Director Colton Bickel. “It is ACEDC’s goal to CULTIVATE the assets that we have in Adams County and that also means developing new assets. We believe that the addition of POWERHOME SOLAR does exactly that, and we look forward to seeing their growth!”

POWERHOME SOLAR plans to hire up to 100 employees in the coming months to fill warehouse, installation and sales positions. Its new installation office is at 2232 W. Patterson St., and its new sales office is located at 2232 W. 9921 Dupont Circle Dr., Ste 225 in Fort Wayne. No prior experience for installers is necessary, as the company offers on-the-job training.

“Electricity prices continue to increase in Indiana,” said POWERHOME SOLAR CEO Jayson Waller. “Residents across the state are seeing how affordable solar is, and their hunger for renewable energy has led us to opening a second office to accommodate for our growing customer base. This also opens the door for more available jobs in the renewable energy market.”

“What an exciting addition to the City of Decatur. I am thrilled to see such a fast growing and innovative company choose Decatur to conduct business. We have always known and believed Decatur to be a great place for business, and this proves it,” said Decatur Mayor Dan Rickord. “We look forward to watching this company grow and continue to provide great opportunities for employment.”
